The Bible is the #1 bestselling book globally, and it is the most translated book in the world. As of September 2020, the entire Bible has been translated into 704 languages. The New Testament into an additional 1,551 languages and Bible portions or stories into 1,160 other languages. Thus at least some parts of the Bible have been translated into 3,415 languages. When the Bible is translated into a language, the publisher starts from Hebrew and Greek texts instead of existing versions. They then take those texts and translate them to the necessary vocabulary. When older and better manuscripts are discovered, a fresh translation is often quickly behind ([[Ray_Clendenen2013-va]]). This website has a good explanation of the translation process [Lecture 10: Can We Trust Our Translations?](https://www.biblicaltraining.org/transcriptions/lecture-10-can-we-trust-our-translations 'Lecture 10: Can We Trust Our Translations?') and this one is a good read on textual variation in scripture [[Daniel2009-ce|The Number of Textual Variants: An Evangelical Miscalculation]]
